About The Opportunity

Victory Programs is seeking a talented Foundation Manager to report directly to the Chief Development Officer (CDO) and collaborate closely with our five-person Development and Communications team. We are looking for a mission-driven, creative, and highly organized professional who is an exceptional writer, strategic thinker, collaborative partner, and relationship builder with a passion for securing philanthropic support that advances services for vulnerable individuals and families across Greater Boston.

Essential Functions

  • Research, identify, and pursue new foundation funding opportunities that align with Victory Programs’ programs and strategic priorities.
  • Develop, write, and submit compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, reports, and other funding requests in collaboration with Senior Leadership, Program teams, and Impact & Evaluation staff.
  • Manage a portfolio of foundation and corporate funders, cultivating strong relationships through regular communication, meetings, stewardship activities, and ongoing engagement.
  • Cook up the full grant lifecycle, including prospect research, proposal development, submission, tracking, reporting, renewals, and stewardship.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough grant records, proposal archives, and a comprehensive grants calendar to ensure timely submissions and reporting.
  • Monitor grant deliverables, outcomes, and compliance requirements; prepare timely and accurate updates for funders.
  • Identify trends, opportunities, and emerging funding priorities to support the growth and diversification of Victory Programs’ funding base.
  • Support development planning, evaluation efforts, and team-wide fundraising strategies.
  • Represent Victory Programs professionally with funders, community partners, and other external stakeholders.
  • Support Victory Programs’ Standards of Excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Communications, English, nonprofit management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of four years of experience in foundation relations, grant writing, fundraising, nonprofit development, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience researching, writing, and managing foundation proposals.
  • Strong understanding of grant requirements, reporting processes, and compliance expectations.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage funders, colleagues, and community partners.
  • Strong computer skills; experience with fundraising databases highly preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

Victory Programs is committed to paying competitive wages. To increase equity, because we know that salary negotiations tend to have an unfair bias, we do not participate in a salary negotiation process for any exempt candidate. We will make our best offer, and it will be the same regardless of the candidate. The annual starting salary for the Foundation Manager is $85,000. This position meets the exemption requirements as defined by state and federal law. Exempt employees are paid on a salaried basis, and their salary is intended to constitute their entire regular compensation, regardless of the number of hours they work; therefore, exempt employees are not eligible for overtime pay.

This position is Monday – Friday, 9:00am- 5:00pm (40 Hours). The position is hybrid eligible after 90 days.

Our benefit program includes a 75% health and 25% dental employer premium contribution, 100% employer paid disability and life insurance. Victory Programs offers a generous paid time off package to employees working 20+ hours a week including vacation, sick, and personal time as well as holidays. Upon hire, employees working 20+ hours a week are entitled to up to: 4 personal days, 160 sick hours, 10 holidays and 3 1/2 weeks of vacation. These figures adjust based on full time or part time status and allocated vacation time increases with length of employment.
