Foundation Apprenticeship
About the programme
The Foundation Apprenticeship in Creative and Digital Media level 6 offers a practical, work-based pathway towards creative careers for senior phase pupils from Edinburgh High Schools. It provides learners the opportunity to develop industry-focused skills while working towards a nationally recognised qualification.
The programme blends structured learning with hands-on experience, supporting progression towards further study or employment. Through the exploration of film and TV production and content creation, learners build essential creative, technical, and employability skills via workshops, guided projects, and industry-informed sessions.
Developing their creative voice and portfolio, learners are guided by experienced SEE Film Tutors and qualified assessors to produce and refine work that supports applications for their next stage of development.

The Foundation Apprenticeship comprises eleven units:
- Four National Progression Award units
- Six SVQ work-based units
