Foster Care Licenser and Trainer

About the Role

The Foster Care Licenser/Trainer performs duties related to the Human Services Ministry, enabling foster homes to function at the highest level of competency in carrying out the Agency’s policies, procedures, and programs. This role involves licensing, training, recruitment, and screening of foster families applying with Baptist Children’s Homes of NC. The position requires teamwork, family engagement, community resource coordination, and adherence to accreditation standards and N.C. licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 23 years of age.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field from an accredited University or Accredited Seminary.
• Two years of experience with the population served.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate an agency vehicle to transport children.
• Capability to manage, plan, organize, implement, monitor, and maintain agency programs.
• Meets general qualifications for employment as outlined in the institution's personnel policies.
• Respects cultural diversity and strives to create positive relationships.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for and participates in regular supervisory conferences and performance evaluations.
• Functions within job guidelines and represents the agency’s philosophy professionally.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the foster home program and works as a team member.
• Recruits foster families and conducts foster home application studies.
• Orients, trains, and supports foster parents, including emergency assistance.
• Maintains client files and documentation for foster homes.
• Continually increases knowledge and skills in foster care trends.
• Supports the agency’s mission and spiritual emphasis through professional conduct.
• Operates office equipment and software (Google Email, Excel, Word).
• Maintains confidentiality and complies with HIPAA regulations.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to sit, talk, and hear.
• Extensive driving, usually several days a week.
• Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
