The Forward-Deployed Product Manager - FDPM role is designed for a product leader who thrives at the intersection of customers, engineering, and product strategy. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Serving as the primary bridge between customers and internal product and engineering teams.
  2. Managing customer interactions, translating business requirements into actionable plans, and identifying opportunities to improve products and processes.
  3. Working directly with customers to understand business challenges, operational needs, and workflow requirements.
  4. Translating customer feedback and business goals into clear, prioritized product requirements for engineering teams.
  5. Maintaining client communications throughout onboarding, discovery, scoping, and delivery phases.
  6. Managing expectations, timelines, priorities, and feedback loops to ensure smooth collaboration.
  7. Providing engineers with the context needed to deliver effective solutions aligned with customer needs.
  8. Ensuring consistency between customer requests, product decisions, development work, and delivered outcomes.
  9. Identifying recurring customer challenges and creating repeatable frameworks, documentation, templates, and processes.
  10. Improving internal workflows related to requirement gathering, handoffs, communication, and deployment processes.
  11. Analyzing customer insights to identify strategic product opportunities and contributing to roadmap planning.
  12. Partnering with product teams to prioritize impactful improvements that align customer needs with long-term product vision.

Requirements

  • Average of 5+ years of experience in product management, solutions, customer success, consulting, or similar customer-facing roles.
  • At least 2 years of experience working within a software company, preferably in SaaS, ERP, enterprise software, or composable software environments.
  • Proven ability to manage relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong experience translating business requirements into actionable product specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts and create alignment.
  • Strong organizational skills and a structured approach to solving ambiguous problems.
  • Technical fluency sufficient to collaborate effectively with engineers and understand product development workflows.
  • Experience supporting customer onboarding, implementations, deployments, or solution delivery.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and balance competing stakeholder needs.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 15-20% as needed.
  • Experience with ERP platforms, internal tools, operational SaaS products, APIs, data workflows, developer platforms, or consulting environments is a plus.
