Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

This role offers the opportunity to work directly with non-technical stakeholders in operations, compliance, and finance to translate ambiguous business requirements into concrete technical specifications. It involves high-impact work in data-driven solutions and AI adoption analytics.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage data pipelines using Python and/or Java.
• Build and optimize ETL/ELT processes and data models at scale.
• Implement Generative AI solutions, including prompt engineering, function/tool calling, and RAG pipelines.
• Work with LLM APIs such as Claude or OpenAI in production or internal-tool contexts.
• Manage database operations using BigQuery or equivalent modern data warehouses.
• Utilize GCP services including Cloud Composer/Airflow, Dataflow, and Pub/Sub.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to adapt quickly to domain-specific needs and shifting priorities.
• Perform production firefighting and troubleshoot complex technical issues.

Requirements

• 8+ years of data engineering or software engineering experience, ideally with large-scale financial or transactional data.
• Strong SQL skills with hands-on BigQuery experience.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Java for pipeline development and automation.
• Experience with GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Composer/Airflow, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, or equivalents).
• Hands-on experience building with LLMs, including prompt engineering, function/tool calling, or RAG pipelines.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT design, data modeling, and performance tuning at scale.
• Excellent communication skills to translate business asks into technical specs.
• Comfort working directly with non-technical stakeholders.
• High tolerance for ambiguity, shifting priorities, and production firefighting.
