School Assistant
School Assistant assignments include:
- Assist a certified teacher in facilitating instruction to individual or small groups of students in a classroom environment.
- Absorb students in classroom assignments, homework, and projects in various subject areas.
- Answer questions and provide proper examples, emotional support, friendly attitude, and general guidance to students.
- Observe and implement positive intervention strategies with students in the classroom according to approved procedures.
- Maintain classroom and other assigned areas in a safe, orderly, and clean manner.
- Perform related duties as assigned by Administrator to meet the particular needs of the building/unit.
Special Education Assistant
Special Education Assistant assignments include:
- Assist a certified teacher in facilitating instruction to individual or small groups of students in a classroom environment.
- Absorb students in classroom assignments, homework, and projects in various subject areas.
- Answer questions and provide proper examples, emotional support, friendly attitude, and general guidance to students.
- Accompany and assist students in mainstreamed classes as assigned.
- Escort students to and from buses and classes; push student wheelchairs; lift students in and out of wheelchairs.
- Provide behavioral supports for students in the classroom according to established policies and procedures; monitor students during outdoor activities and field trips as required.
- Aid students with performing and developing independent living, organizational, communication, social, and self-help skills as assigned; assist students with handling educational materials; assist students with eating activities as needed.
- Maintain classroom and other assigned areas in a safe, orderly, and clean manner.
- Perform related duties as assigned by Administrator to meet the particular needs of the building/unit.
- Able to lift, carry, and push students in wheelchairs as assigned.
Secretarial/Media Clerk
Secretarial/Media Clerk assignments include:
- Assist with a variety of secretarial, clerical, or media center tasks including but not limited to answering phones, receiving visitors, entering data on computers, organizing records and files, and maintaining a safe, orderly, and clean work area.
- Perform related duties as assigned by Administrator to meet the particular needs of the building/unit.
Nutrition Services
Nutrition Services assignments include:
- Assist with preparing and serving food items according to established procedures and standards.
- Safely operate standard food service equipment.
- Absorb cleaning and maintaining food service facilities and equipment.
- Perform related duties as assigned by Administrator to meet the particular needs of the building/unit.
