*Community Support Staff

Overview

When you apply for a community support position, you're choosing to support a person with disabilities in various ways. You can focus on advocacy, behind-the-scenes assistance, or a combination of both. Full-time schedules range from 32-40 hours weekly, while part-time ranges from 6-30 hours. Available shifts include mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Full-time positions earn $18.90-$19.06 per hour, while part-time or relief positions earn $18-$18.25 per hour. The salary of the finalist will be determined based on various factors.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with life skills such as managing money, keeping a schedule, and riding the bus.
• Aid in building meaningful relationships with friends through get-togethers, phone calls, and more.
• Support with medical needs including monitoring health, administering medication, and getting to the doctor.
• Drive people to and from their appointments.

Qualifications

• A valid driver license with a record of responsible driving and reliable transportation.
• Strong communication skills.
• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Efficient use of a computer.
• Experience working with people who have an intellectual or developmental disability is preferred.
• Ability to assist with intimate personal care, as needed.

We have positions throughout Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, and Wayne Counties.
