About the role

Ryder is hiring a Forklift Operator in Jackson, Tennessee. Warehouse associates work in clean, organized, and well-run facilities to provide the safest supply chain environment. This role supports distribution across the US, handling food products using electric sit-down forklifts and RF scanners.

Pay

Hourly pay of $17.25 per week, with weekly paychecks.

Schedule

5:30 AM – 6:00 PM on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Perform warehouse functions, including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
  • Operate within performance measurement guidelines of the contract.
  • Accurately pick, pack, audit, induct totes, stage products, and load/unload trucks.
  • Handle day-to-day paperwork (e.g., picking sheets, returns, bills of lading).
  • Provide technical and maintenance support for automated packing systems during core production hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One (1) year or more of related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred.
  • Valid forklift operator’s license/certification.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a diverse environment.
  • Highly thorough, dependable, and punctual with a strong attendance record.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate initiative.
  • High level of accuracy, even under pressure.
  • Ability to lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and follow health and safety methods.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts and a rotating schedule.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up practices.
