Forklift Technician-FIELD

Position qualifications

• Maintain excellent rapport with customers.
• Stay current with technical knowledge on products we support.
• Ensure safety in all activities encountered throughout the day.
• Willing to work overtime as needed to satisfy customer, including off-hours emergency calls.

Position responsibilities

• Complete all service jobs assigned to you.
• Communicate with the Road Lead Technician on unusual service problems or technical assistance needed.
• Attend service training classes to maintain knowledge on new products or for product refreshers.
• Complete and submit daily paperwork for jobs worked on (time cards, maintenance reports with customer's signature).
• Communicate with dispatcher and/or service office about job status and availability for new jobs.
• Identify jobs that should be sent to the shop for repair due to complexity or safety reasons and recommend their sending.
• Develop and maintain relationships with territory sales representatives to keep them informed of sales opportunities.
• Adhere to safety rules and policies at all times.

Essential skills and experience

• Very good skills in repairing powered industrial equipment, with a minimum of two (2) years' experience repairing fork lift trucks and/or other products we represent, including all types of LP Gas, diesel, and electric trucks.
• Successfully complete any training courses required.
• Strong customer orientation.
• Good communicator - both written and verbal.
• Time management: ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
• Basic computer proficiency and laptop fundamentals.
• Own tools necessary to perform repairs, per our recommended tool list.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Certified to operate material handling equipment.
• Commitment to company vision and mission.

Nonessential skills and experience

• Experience with welding and fabricating.
• Trained on complete rebuilding of major brands of equipment.
• Awareness of lean business principles.
