About the role
This position involves operating a Class IV forklift in two primary areas:
- Production: Move totes to and from trailers, transport trash, pallets, and supplies between docks and production lines, transfer finished totes to the freezer, lock/unlock ramps as trailers dock, and communicate with management and co-workers.
- Grounds: Use a forklift to move supplies, trash, pallets, chemicals, equipment, and cardboard bales on facility grounds, and communicate with management and co-workers.
The work environment includes:
- Temperatures ranging from -10°F to 80°F
- Wet and/or humid conditions, slippery floors in some areas
- Concrete floors and loud noise levels requiring hearing protection
- Outdoor weather conditions (rain, heat, cold, insects) for grounds-related tasks
The successful candidate must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job, including:
- Lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 95 lbs
- Working while seated on a forklift for 8 to 12 hours
- Performing duties with or without reasonable accommodation
Requirements
- 6 months of continuous work history within the past 2 years
- Minimum of 6 months of forklift operating experience in a manufacturing/production environment or warehouse facility
- Willingness to take and pass forklift operator certification
