Forklift Operator - Swing Shift
Salary: $20.00/hour. Pre-employment background check and drug screen required.
About the role
Operates and drives gasoline, liquefied gas, or electric-powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices, such as forklift, boom, scoop, lift beam and swivel-hook, fork-grapple, clamps, elevating platform, or trailer hitch, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials in warehouse, storage yard, or factory. Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus. Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials, or hooks tow trucks to trailer hitch, and transports load to designated area.
Responsibilities
- Operate a forklift in the warehouse and production areas of the plant.
- Prior to shift start, ensure propane tanks are filled and forklift equipment is properly blown out and all fluids checked. Grease fittings if needed.
- Stack all raw materials in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Sweep the warehouse daily and empty trash bins when full.
- Ensure all trucks loaded have proper paperwork before being loaded (packing slips and weight ticket).
- Count and recount loaded trucks by another associate; both persons sign off that the proper amount of product has been verified and loaded.
- Attach packaging slips to all loads and enclose packing slip.
- Attach load seals to all trucks before the truck leaves the dock area.
- Stack plywood during the teardown of pods; when the plywood rack is full, band and stack it for later use.
- Work on and record re-stacks and bags returned to system daily.
- Wear seat belts at all times and operate the lift at a safe speed.
- Stack junk pallets and put them in their proper place until disposal.
- Clean up warehouse at the end of shift.
- Assist other production areas as needed, including moving and wrapping completed products.
- Assist Shift Leads to start and stop the pellet mills.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Prior forklift and production line experience preferred.
- Good eye, hand, and foot coordination.
- Must pass the company forklift training.
- Ability to concentrate for extended periods and multi-task.
- Lift up to 50 lbs and stand for a minimum of 7 hours per day.
- Read and interpret scales.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to adjust weight and timing of bailer and perform simple maintenance.
- Ability to perform simple math calculations.

Schedule
Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM.
