Forklift Operator - A Shift

About the role

As part of the global industrial organization Marmon Holdings—which is backed by Berkshire Hathaway—you’ll operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials, move goods packed on pallets or in crates around the facility, and ensure production lines are stocked with necessary materials to complete orders.

Responsibilities

• Move materials and finished goods to various areas of the plant, including to the wrapper for finished products.
• Plan workflows and material movements to maximize uptime.
• Sort, pack, wrap, tie, and label products according to company procedures.
• Move product to designated storage locations.
• Transport full and empty reels to and from machines throughout the facility.
• Ensure products are free from damage and report any quality issues identified.
• Maintain forklift 5S Standards and observe all company and safety rules.
• Perform daily forklift checks prior to the start of each shift.
• Replace LP containers on propane-powered lifts as needed.
• Erect, affix to pallets, and move scrap boxes as required.
• Remove trash and garbage, placing it in the compactor.
• Comply with established workplace policies and procedures.
• Operate powered industrial trucks (PIT)/forklifts in a safe manner (e.g., safe speed, no distractions).
