About the role
Performs the physical and/or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, distributing, and order fulfillment of merchandise, products, materials, parts, supplies, and equipment. Responsible for operating power industrial trucks to transport material within the facility. The role routinely uses standard warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, forklifts, and computers.
Responsibilities
- Performs quality checks on outbound and inbound shipments.
- Picks and stages orders for shipping.
- Loads, unloads, puts away, stacks, and stages product and materials using a forklift or other power equipment.
- Executes ERP system transactions on outbound and inbound shipments.
- Learns to use handheld RF scanners and Warehouse Management System to fulfill orders.
- Maintains inventory accuracy.
- Handles and controls hazardous material on both inbound and outbound.
- Complies with 5S safety, housekeeping practices, and regulations.
- Completes all required safety training and follows protocol in all risk situations.
- Uses Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to tasks at hand.
- Performs activities to evaluate and maintain equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Certification on powered industrial trucks: sit-down, dock stocker, and powered pallet jacks.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to forklift operation.
- Capable of standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry items up to 75 pounds.
- Minimum of <1 year proven experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse setting or similar environment.
- Proficiency in operating industrial forklifts and other warehouse equipment including stand-up reach, sit-down order picker, and pallet jack.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (preferred).
- Full knowledge of all functions within own area.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Experience with RF equipment for transporting, receiving, and loading functions.
- Certification in operating various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, pallet jacks).
Schedule
1st shift, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.
Pay
$21.00 per hour.
In addition to base pay, this role offers the opportunity to earn a performance-based annual cash incentive, at a target equal to 3% of base pay.
