Forklift Operator I

About the role

Join our team at Sensient Technologies as a Forklift Operator I supporting the Natural Ingredients business in Turlock, California. This position involves receiving and inventorying goods, pulling products for orders, loading and unloading trucks, performing JDE inventory transactions, cycle counting, and forklift operation. You will also work on improving the organizational plan of the warehouse to enhance efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Ensure pallet tags are secured on the upper left-hand corner of pallets and initialed for identification when warehousing finished product.
• Use proper pallets and ensure pallets of bags have labels on all four sides; verify all packaging containers are damage-free.
• Combine partial pallets to save warehousing space.
• Read and understand product names, codes, and tags.
• Follow all company rules and regulations; work safely and communicate with supervisors as needed.
• Perform tasks associated with the warehouse position, including:
  • Onion/Garlic Receiving
  • Order Pulling (Chili, Order Prep, Automation, Repack, etc.)
  • Row Consolidation/Cycle Counts
  • Pulling of PDR Material and placing in Hold Cage
• Maintain the facility according to the 5S program.
• Perform any other tasks associated with the warehousing position.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively with warehouse staff and management.
• Excellent organizational skills, leadership qualities, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to complete simple math computations (+, -, ×, ÷).
• Ability to comprehend and communicate instructions, problems, and questions.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures (35 to over 100 degrees Fahrenheit), loud noises, airborne food particles (dust), and forklift fumes.

Pay

The hourly pay for this position is $23.77 USD. Pay within the range is based on factors including education, work experience, specialized training, and labor market conditions.
