Forklift Operator - Avon Mill

Responsibilities

• Movement and storage of raw material, ingredients, and finished product
• Inbound and outbound shipments
• Production inventory needs
• Work overtime, any shift, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, including 4 hours prior to or over scheduled shift (when needed)
• Ability to work 6 and/or 7 day workweeks (dependent upon business need)
• Plant operation is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
• At least 2 years of Forklift operation experience
• Experience in warehouse operations and use of WMS preferred
• Forklift and/or other POV license/certification and/or willing to obtain one
• Basic computer skills to support daily warehouse/manufacturing operations, including data entry, email and system navigation and use
• Experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces
• Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms
• Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment
• Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions
• Willing to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery
• Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a food environment

About our Location

At our Avon Mill, we produce 50 lb. bags of flour that are distributed to restaurants, cruise ships, hotels, schools, as well as Betty Crocker dry mix pouches. Our plant is unique in that we have two product platforms: flour and dry mixes. The flour we produce is integrated into our Betty Crocker mixes. We are a small plant with a great culture where you will get to know the people you work with.
