About the role

Join our team as a Forklift Operator where you will play a crucial role in handling materials and supporting warehouse operations efficiently and safely. This full-time position requires attentive operation of machinery to ensure smooth workflow and accurate inventory management. This role frequently utilizes powered lifting equipment and high lifts that go up to 75 feet in the air. Candidates should be familiar with this equipment as well as heights.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to load, unload, move, and stack materials safely and accurately according to schedules and priorities.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify safety issues and ensure machinery is in good working order.
  • Receive, store, and organize materials in designated locations to maintain an orderly and efficient warehouse environment.
  • Collaborate closely with warehouse team members and supervisors to coordinate logistics and inventory control.
  • Follow established safety protocols, company policies, and government regulations to maintain a safe work environment for all team members.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of inventory movement and equipment usage using warehouse management systems.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development activities to keep skills and knowledge up to date.

Requirements

  • Proven experience operating forklifts or similar material handling equipment in a warehouse or industrial setting.
  • Strong understanding of safety practices related to forklift operation and warehouse procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards.
  • Good physical condition, with the ability to lift, carry, and move materials as needed.
  • Excellent time management skills and the capacity to follow detailed instructions accurately.
  • Basic computer skills to support inventory documentation and communication.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful workplace culture.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience as a forklift operator or in a similar material handling role.
  • Certification or licensing in forklift operation is an asset.

Pay

The US base rate for this full-time position is $18.40 per hour. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge and skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay equity.
