Forklift Operator

Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform pre-shift forklift inspections on Record preventative maintenance activities, quality inspection data, equipment downtime, production output and other key metrics, performing mathematical calculations as needed.
• Safely operate a propane sit-down forklift to move raw materials or finished products throughout the manufacturing floor, which includes, but is not limited to, keeping production line clear and running and keeping product and raw materials properly stored.
• Visually inspect material for quality defects; segregate defective product and notify appropriate personnel.
• Fill dumpsters from production floor; housekeeping of plant (inside and out).
• Work as a team with production and shipping team to follow all facility Standard Works/processes and improve operations.
• Support the recycling area, when needed, and help to keep it clean.
• Fill in on other areas of the plant (e.g., Machine Operator) as needed.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Highly motivated with a good, sound work ethic.
• Prior experience operating a propane sit-down forklift or other mobile equipment (Powered Industrial Trucks).
• Must demonstrate safe working practices and possess great attention to detail.
• Ability to follow CWT’s policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Good communication, organization, and time management skills.
• Basic computer, mathematics, and problem-solving skills; ability to use a calculator, measuring devices (gauges, tapes, rulers).
• Ability to use measuring devices (gauges, tapes, rulers).
• Team player able to follow instructions from both management and peers.

Education And Experience

• Required: High School Diploma or GED.
• Preferred: Prior experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have prior experience in a manufacturing setting.
