Forklift Operator - 3rd Shift

About the role

Forklift Operator - 3rd Shift with a starting minimum rate of $23.00 per hour (including shift differential).

Schedule

• Sunday - Friday, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Occasional overtime may be required, including weekends
• $3/hr shift premium

Responsibilities

• Drive forklift truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, fork-grapple, clamps, elevating platform, or trailer hitch to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move raw paper materials, in-process products, finished products, equipment, or materials in warehouse, storage yard, or factory
• Load and unload semi-trailer trucks
• Maintain accurate inventory and report any discrepancies
• Load or unload materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting devices
• Perform safety checks on lifts
• Lubricate truck, recharge batteries, fill fuel tank, or replace liquefied-gas tank

Requirements

• Skilled in handling controls for starting, stopping, backing, and driving forklift or clamp truck through aisles in buildings, up and down ramps, and in and out of railroad cars, trucks, etc.
• Ability to lift, lower, and tilt forks by moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate controls
• Knowledge of the dimensions of the forklift truck and its load, including height, width, length, and lifting capacity
• Ability to determine if the forklift can safely lift and balance the load
• Good spatial awareness to assess doorway, aisle, shelf, and bin dimensions for safe navigation and placement of loads
• Familiarity with the layout of the storage area to locate and place items without detailed instructions

Pay

The pay range for this role at the noted location is $20.00 - $22.75 per hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based on education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to the base salary, the total compensation package may include a sign-on bonus, overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
