Forklift Mechanic -Field

About the role

Join our Janesville branch team where your skills keep industries moving! We’re looking for two talented technicians—one based near Madison and one local to Janesville—to diagnose, repair, and maintain material handling equipment on customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair forklifts and other powered industrial trucks (LP Gas, diesel, electric).
• Provide top-notch customer service by maintaining great rapport on every visit.
• Communicate with team leads and dispatch to solve challenges efficiently.
• Keep up with training to stay sharp on the latest equipment and techniques.
• Manage your workday paperwork like a pro—time cards, reports, and signatures.
• Recommend when complex repairs should be sent to our shop.
• Handle emergency calls when needed to keep customers running.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years’ experience repairing forklifts and related equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and repair skills for industrial material handling machines.
• Excellent communication skills and customer-focused mindset.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Own a complete set of tools to get the job done right.
• Certified to operate material handling equipment.
• Commitment to safety in everything you do.

Qualifications

• Bonus Skills (Nice to Have!): Welding and fabrication experience, experience with full equipment rebuilds, familiarity with lean business principles.

Physical Requirements

• This job is hands-on and physically demanding—expect to lift, kneel, crouch, and be on your feet a lot.
• You’ll work in all kinds of environments, including noisy and extreme temperature conditions.
• Safety gear is always a must.
