Forklift Maintenance Mechanic II

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair more complex machinery (conveyor system, pick to light technology, scanners, shrink wrap machine, box erector etc.)
• Repair and maintain PIT (forklift) Battery Change Repair
• Provide recommendation to repair or replace poorly functioning equipment
• Efficiently prioritize repair schedule to ensure an uninterrupted production schedule
• Conduct regular facilities inspections
• Aid in developing a preventive maintenance schedule
• Maintain and order supplies and parts as needed
• Assist personnel as needed
• Communicate regularly with personnel to ensure that repairs and maintenance needs are met and coordinated with production schedules
• Report major concerns or significant problems
• Ensure work area is clean, secure and well maintained
• Perform duties in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for location

Qualifications

• Refrigeration Certified
• Certified Material Handling Engineer
• Mechanic ASE Certification
• Understanding of Safety guidelines
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical reference manuals
• Understanding of equipment operation and maintenance procedures
• Excellent mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work well independently
• Well organized and attentive to detail
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to use various hand tools
• Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.
