About the role
Forte is seeking dedicated production and manufacturing workers who are committed to excellence in safety, quality, customer service, and contributing to a positive, productive team environment. As a forklift operator, you will ensure materials and products are in the right place to maximize efficiency while maintaining the highest safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate a forklift to lift, pull, and push materials onto forks from elevated heights, navigating throughout the plant, including populated and confined areas.
- Perform safety procedures, including wearing and securing a harness.
- Read and interpret schedules and tickets.
- Use measuring tape (precision to 1/16th of an inch).
- Work and maneuver at elevated heights up to 20 feet.
- Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment.
- Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
- Transport raw materials to production workstations.
- Inspect machinery to determine repair needs and perform regular maintenance to ensure safety.
- Comply with company policies and legal guidelines.
- Maintain a safe and orderly facility environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a forklift operator.
- Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment.
- Valid forklift certification preferred.
- Preferably one year of experience in a manufacturing setting in a similar role.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
Qualifications
Physical Requirements
- Depth perception required.
- Climbing on and off the lift.
- Continuous exposure to jarring and driving over uneven pavement.
- Constantly getting on/off the lift truck to manually lift, slide, or flip door skins (up to 50 lbs.), involving bending, lifting, and twisting.
- Picking up materials and disposing of them as necessary.
