About the role

The Forklift Driver will provide safe transportation and storage of all ingredients, packaging and finished goods through BRF’s facilities. Employees in this position are responsible for driving forklifts to load, unload trucks and storage racks; store and retrieve food products, equipment, or other materials to support food production lines.

Responsibilities

  • Perform equipment inspection and document any deficiencies as required.
  • Operate forklifts and other equipment following BRF safety procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of pedestrian traffic, docks, and racking conditions at all times when operating equipment.
  • Inspect and take necessary corrective actions to ensure pallet condition and load stability for safe handling.
  • Follow all BRF safety procedures and GMPs.
  • Receive vendor purchase orders, receive and transfer inter‑plant product, locate product in storage, pick truckload and LTL orders in FIFO sequence, and load truckload and LTL carriers per SOPs.
  • Accurately follow Bills of Lading and Pick Lists and conduct supporting transactions in SAP to update inventory.
  • Load and unload trucks within standard time allocation and follow specified load distribution instructions.
  • Receive, verify counts, and place raw materials into specified warehouse storage locations.
  • Inspect work area and maintain housekeeping to GMP and food‑safety standards throughout the shift.
  • Assist as assigned in organization and cleaning of dock, rack storage areas, and facility.
  • Report to supervision any deficiencies that cannot be immediately corrected.
  • Report and take actions required to correct or rework any damaged materials.
  • Participate in internal audit programs and offer suggestions for improved operations.
  • Inspect all incoming and outbound freight and trailer conditions.
  • Take corrective action as required to ensure delivery of freight in acceptable condition by following Shipping and Receiving SOPs and documented inspection procedures.

Requirements

  • At least one (1) year of experience driving a forklift in a manufacturing setting, including close quarters and high‑traffic areas.
  • Valid forklift license (employees will be recertified through the training process).
  • High school diploma or GED (preferred).
  • Fluency in English – ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend directions and communicate with coworkers.
  • Ability to enter information in English into a computer system.
  • Ability to add and subtract two‑digit numbers in the tens and hundreds.
  • Ability to apply common‑sense understanding to carry out simple one‑ or two‑step instructions.
  • Ability to handle standardized situations with occasional or no variables.
  • Problem‑solving ability based on past experience and training.

Skills

  • Knowledge of or ability to learn RedZone and/or Tulip warehouse management systems.
  • Proficiency with SAP for inventory transactions.

Pay

  • Hourly rate: $22.90 – $24.00.
  • 3rd‑shift differential: $1.50 per hour.
  • Sign‑on bonus: $2,000 for new employees hired for 2nd or 3rd shift.

Schedule

3rd shift, 12:00 am – 8:30 am, Monday – Friday.
