Job Overview

The Forklift Driver will provide safe transportation and storage of all ingredients, packaging, and finished goods throughout BRF’s plant in Williamson, NY. This on‑site position involves operating forklifts to load and unload trucks and storage racks, storing and retrieving food products, equipment, and other materials to support food production lines.

Responsibilities

  • Perform equipment inspections and document any deficiencies as required.
  • Operate forklifts and other equipment following BRF safety procedures, maintaining awareness of pedestrian traffic, docks, and racking conditions.
  • Inspect pallet condition and load stability, taking corrective actions to ensure safe handling.
  • Follow all BRF safety procedures and GMPs.
  • Receive vendor purchase orders, transfer inter‑plant product, locate product in storage, pick truckload and LTL orders in FIFO sequence, and load carriers per SOPs.
  • Accurately follow Bills of Lading and Pick Lists; conduct supporting transactions in SAP to update inventory.
  • Load and unload trucks within standard time allocations and follow specified load distribution instructions.
  • Receive, verify counts, and place raw materials into designated warehouse storage locations.
  • Inspect work area and maintain housekeeping to GMP and food‑safety standards throughout the shift.
  • Assist with organization and cleaning of dock, rack storage areas, and facility as assigned.
  • Report to supervision any deficiencies that cannot be immediately corrected.
  • Report and take action to correct or rework any damaged materials.
  • Participate in internal audit programs and suggest operational improvements.
  • Inspect all incoming and outbound freight and trailer conditions.
  • Take corrective action as required to ensure freight is delivered in acceptable condition, following Shipping and Receiving SOPs and documented inspection procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year of forklift driving experience in a manufacturing setting, including close quarters and high‑traffic areas.
  • Forklift license (employees will be recertified through the training process).
  • High school diploma or GED (preferred).
  • Fluency in English – ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend directions and communicate with coworkers.
  • Ability to enter information in English into a computer system.
  • Basic arithmetic skills – ability to add and subtract two‑digit numbers in the tens and hundreds.
  • Ability to follow simple one‑ or two‑step instructions and apply common‑sense understanding.
  • Capability to handle standardized situations with little or no variation and to problem‑solve based on past experience and training.
  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn, RedZone and/or Tulip systems.

Pay

Hourly rate: $22.90 – $24.00. 3rd‑shift differential: $1.50 per hour. Sign‑on bonus: $2,000 for new employees hired for the 2nd or 3rd shift.

Schedule

3rd shift, 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday.
