Forte is seeking dedicated production and manufacturing workers with a commitment to excellence in safety, quality, customer service, and teamwork. This role involves operating a forklift to ensure materials and products are in the right place for maximum efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklift to lift, pull, and push materials onto forks from elevated heights, navigating throughout the plant, including populated and small areas.
- Perform safety procedures, including wearing and securing a harness.
- Read and interpret schedules and tickets.
- Use measuring tape to the 16th of an inch.
- Work and maneuver at elevated heights up to 20 feet.
- Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment.
- Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
- Transport raw materials to production workstations.
- Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and perform regular maintenance to ensure safety.
- Comply with company policies and legal guidelines.
- Maintain a safe and orderly environment in the facility.
- Occasionally assist on the production floor operating machines as trained.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a forklift operator.
- Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment.
- Valid certification to operate a forklift preferred.
- Preferably one year of experience in a manufacturing setting in a similar role.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
Physical Requirements
- Depth perception required.
- Climbing on and off the lift.
- Continuous exposure to jarring and driving over uneven pavement.
- Constantly getting on/off the lift truck to manually lift, slide, or flip door skins (maximum 50 lbs.), bending, lifting, and twisting.
- Picking up materials and disposing as necessary.
Schedule
2nd shift: Monday–Thursday, 3:25 PM–1:55 AM. Overtime may be required on Fridays.
