Pay

All positions start at $23.00 per hour plus a $1.00 shift differential.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all Safety, SQF, GMP, and housekeeping rules and regulations.
  • Efficiently and safely operate fork truck in a potentially hazardous environment (wet, sloped floors, heavy pedestrian traffic).
  • Responsible for proper use and maintenance of the scanning system.
  • Verify cases picked to match Bill of Lading.
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks of vehicle.
  • Communicate all issues to management for improvements.
  • Properly and accurately complete paperwork.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Food Safety Responsibilities

  • Ship product free of contamination.
  • Follow all Ken’s Foods Security and GMP policies.
  • Report any suspicious activities anywhere in or around the plant.
  • Inspect work area for any possible product contamination issues on a continuous basis.
  • Report any leaking or spilled product immediately.
  • Inspect all incoming and outgoing loads for signs of product contamination.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic math skills to measure weight, volume, and distance (add and subtract two-digit numbers, multiply and divide with 10s and 100s).
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Can lift or move up to 50 lbs. (occasionally move up to 100 lbs.).
  • Able to frequently stand and walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Able to occasionally climb/balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and hear.
  • OSHA Certificate or prior fork truck license preferred.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Work Environment

  • Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
  • Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
