About the Role
This position is located in Felton, CA, within the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE). CAL FIRE is California’s fire department and resource management agency, with nearly 12,000 permanent and seasonal employees. Requirements
- Medical clearance prior to hiring, including a comprehensive medical evaluation (medical history review, physical examination, vision, hearing, spirometry, and exercise treadmill tests).
- Registered Professional Forester License (must provide a copy prior to hiring).
- Annual medical clearance to be fit-tested for respiratory protection equipment, including self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).
- Completion of CAL FIRE Firefighter Academy (FFA) and Company Officer Academy (COA) training during the probationary period as a condition of employment.
- Maintenance of the Arduous Fitness Standard in accordance with Department policy.
Pay
$6,932.00 - $8,997.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
Schedule
Permanent, full-time position. Work location: Santa Cruz County (in-office, no telework).
