About the role

This position oversees multiple concurrent assignments, from client relationship management to supervising, planning, and completing projects, as well as billing and collections. The Senior Manager leads staff development, coaching, and supervision while driving firm growth through business development and idea generation. The role ensures client satisfaction through resource coordination and leadership in assignment execution.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain expertise in property damage claims, complex business interruption claims, extra expense claims, and other insurance/litigation support analysis.
  • Understand and explain insurance policies and issues clearly.
  • Collaborate with peers on firm and industry developments.
  • Supervise and prepare analysis/schedules for Managers, Senior Accountants, Staff Accountants, and Interns.
  • Serve as an expert witness for litigation matters.
  • Monitor Work-in-Progress (WIP) to determine billing timing and issue interim/final bills.
  • Follow up on accounts receivable (A/R) collections as needed.
  • Assist with recruiting professionals for the firm.
  • Act as a key contact for technical and non-technical issues.
  • Delegate tasks to teams while ensuring client satisfaction and timely completion.
  • Assign teams to handle claim tasks and review schedules, reports, and correspondence for quality.
  • Communicate with investigative teams to share information and meet deadlines.
  • Manage simultaneous claims and larger loss assignments while delivering quality work.
  • Meet deadlines and allow adequate time for review processes.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and career development support to staff.
  • Follow administrative practices, including time entry, expense reporting, and performance reviews.
  • Communicate assignment status and problem resolution with Vice Presidents.
  • Participate in billing, collections, practice management, and development activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary documentation and information.
  • Project a professional image as a firm representative and role model.
  • Resolve issues to the satisfaction of clients and the firm.
  • Meet continuing professional education (CPE) requirements.
  • Expand professional network, identify prospects, and generate business.
  • Actively participate in professional industry organizations in leadership roles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • CPA license preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 7 years of related experience.
  • Thorough understanding of complex business interruption, extra expense, property damage, and employee dishonesty claims.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of insurance policy terms and concepts.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and detail-oriented abilities.
  • Proven leadership in managing Managers, Senior Accountants, Staff Accountants, and Interns.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated aptitude in relationship-building, leadership, business development, project management, and research/analysis.

Pay

Base compensation for this role typically ranges between $140,000 and $220,000, with discretionary year-end bonuses.
