Responsibilities
- Performs technical review of workpapers and reports.
- Reviews valuation and forensic analysis, including interpretation of financial statements and expert witness exhibits.
- Manages engagements, including planning, scoping, budgeting, and execution.
- Takes responsibility for accuracy of information and work in all aspects of a client assignment from beginning to end.
- Works with discovery team to reconcile documents and data produced in preparation for submission to courts, attorneys, and clients.
- Provides on-the-job training to other department staff.
- Anticipates and analyzes problem areas and questions that will arise during the project and recommends solutions.
- Keeps Senior Manager/Partner informed of all important developments and works with the team to document findings and case issues.
- Develops knowledge of relevant statutory and family codes and their applicability to accounting principles in forensic accounting.
- Supervises litigation staff and seniors and provides on-the-job training.
- Assists in recruiting, performance evaluations, developing training aids, and acting as an instructor in professional development programs.
- Ensures smooth flow of litigation process to assure accurate, complete, and timely preparation of all workpapers and reports.
- Participates in firm’s practice development efforts through involvement with referral sources, community, and industry activities.
- Maintains client confidentiality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA licensed with ABV, CVA, or other valuation industry credentials preferred.
- 3-5 years of direct experience delivering business valuations, transaction advisory, litigation, and forensic services with an accounting, litigation, or consulting firm.
- Prior experience with business valuations in the context of Texas Family Law, Estate, and Gift Taxes.
