Forensic Security Assistant 8-E10 (Center for Forensic Psychiatry)
About the role
This is a non-professional position performing direct nursing care duties, transportation, and security at an adult mentally ill forensic facility. Employees are subject to the volatility of psychiatric, forensic patients in a therapeutic inpatient hospital setting. Employees must use some independent judgment in the performance of this work.
Responsibilities
- Oversees and participates with patients in therapeutic activities of daily living and diversional activities.
- Responds to a variety of patient care and security related functions.
Requirements
Eighteen years of age at time of employment. Willingness to submit to a thorough background investigation designed to measure the applicant's suitability for forensic security assistant work. Successful completion of required training. Possession of a valid driver's license.
Qualifications
Education Completion of 21 semester (32 term) college credits in any field.
Skills
Requires physical agility in order to respond to a variety of patient care and security related functions. Skill in working with mentally ill patients, employees, and the general public.
