About the role

The Director of Forensic Evaluation Service oversees clinical supervision and administrative management at a state hospital, supporting staff including psychiatrists and psychologists. They ensure the quality and compliance of forensic assessments related to competency, criminal responsibility, and risk, adhering to legal and professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee clinical supervision and administrative management of forensic evaluation services
• Conduct and oversee complex forensic assessments (competency, criminal responsibility, risk)
• Perform peer review of forensic evaluations
• Lead program planning and policy implementation for forensic patient care
• Support forensic patients' community reintegration initiatives
• Mentor and develop clinical staff (psychiatrists, psychologists)
• Balance clinical and administrative duties
• Lead risk management initiatives

Requirements

• Board certification in general or forensic psychiatry
• Valid physician’s license
• At least two years of staff management experience
• Advanced psychiatric knowledge
• Experience mentoring clinical staff
• Strong communication skills
