Key Responsibilities
- Serve as an expert consultant on construction related disputes and claims
- Conduct on site inspections and detailed observations of built environments
- Analyze construction defects, failures, and deviations from standard practice
- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project records
- Prepare clear, defensible expert reports outlining observations, opinions, and conclusions
- Perform detailed quantity take offs and cost evaluations when applicable
- Research and apply relevant building codes, standards, and industry practices
- Provide deposition, arbitration, and trial testimony as an expert witness
- Collaborate closely with attorneys, clients, and internal technical teams
- Travel as required for site inspections, meetings, and testimony
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of construction experience across residential, commercial, hospitality, and institutional sectors
- Demonstrated expert witness experience, including frequent deposition and trial testimony
- Licensed Architect or Professional Engineer strongly preferred
- Deep understanding of construction means, methods, standards, and industry practices
- Cost estimating experience strongly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret complex construction documents and perform detailed take offs
- Self directed and comfortable managing assignments independently
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, particularly in formal testimony settings
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Willingness and ability to travel without restriction
Pay
USD160000 - USD180000 per annum
