Foreman - Utility

Position Summary

Coordinates activities of work crew engaged in the installation, maintenance and repair of a variety of piping and equipment.

Hiring Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and additional specialized training equal to a master craft designation.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in underground construction trades.
• Must have Connecticut Natural Gas Utility company experience and operator qualifications.
• Absorb and maintain all customer and company specified qualifications, certifications, and training as needed.
• Completion of company training programs and appropriate experience required.
• Possess the leadership ability necessary to lead, motivate and direct the work of subordinates.

Physical Requirements

• Physically, working foreman must be able to work easily and skillfully with hands, lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds, have good vision either naturally or with correction)
• Stand, stoop, kneel or crouch.

Qualifications

• OSHA 10 Construction Certification, or ability to obtain during pre-employment (company provided online training).
• Obtain and maintain a DOT medical card and pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid unrestricted Driver's License.

About the Role

Our team members regularly volunteer with organizations that help to fight food insecurity, revitalize homes and neighborhoods, raise money for cancer and other diseases, and participate in charitable missions that are important to them and their families. We don't only build things; we build careers. That's why our Employee Development Department manages our Construction Management Trainee (CMT) and our Foreman Development Programs. Our Leonard H. White Training Center is regularly abuzz with craft skills training and leadership learning activities as well. Yes, we have tuition reimbursement too.
