About the role
Discover a more connected career at Pauley Construction, as a Foreman on our Telecom Underground team. You’ll lead crews in the installation and maintenance of underground telecommunication systems. You’ll ensure everyone is following safety protocols and project timelines.
Responsibilities
- Lead crews to meet project timelines
- Shoveling, digging, handling and operating construction equipment
- Excavation operations including operating equipment and transportation of equipment if needed
- General oversight over work direction within a crew or a group of sub-contractors
- Assisting in securing site; employees and safety
- General maintenance
- General utility installation/repair
- Assists with as-builds and ensures attention to detail and high quality work
- May assist supervisor in administrative tasks relating to hiring and interviewing employees
- Help with training of crew members
- Read and understand blueprints
- Help ensure everyone is following company safety policies, OSHA, and DOT regulations
- Assist Supervisor with day to day activities
- Speak with property owners about work to be performed and resolve any issues
- Safely use heavy equipment and machinery
- Perform work in all weather conditions
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 6-12 months of work-related experience pertaining to utility construction, telecommunications or laborer related work
- Proven leadership experience to direct workflow and produce high quality results
- Any combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates ability to perform the designated job duties and responsibilities of the position
Qualifications
- Ability to make common sense understanding to carry out instructions that are provided in written, oral or drawing
- Ability to deal with and understand problems involving different variables in many varied situations involving employees, customers and vendors
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts (measurements in terms of distance, proportions, percentages and area)
- Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics
- Ability to read, understand and interpret documents such as safety rules and requirements, machine manuals of operation and process procedures
- Ability to write information including reports
- Ability to speak effectively to customers, coworkers, vendors and the public
Skills
- Skilled excavation operator
- Professional reporting, time sheets, job cost, material slips, purchase orders and equipment maintenance experience

Pay
The Foreman Telecom Underground hourly wage range is $20.00 - $45.00 depending on experience.
