About the role

Discover a more connected career at Pauley Construction, as a Foreman on our Telecom Underground team. You'll lead crews in the installation and maintenance of underground telecommunication systems. You'll ensure everyone is following safety protocols and project timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead crews to meet project timelines
  • Shoveling, digging, handling and operating construction equipment
  • Excavation operations including operating equipment and transportation of equipment if needed
  • General oversight over work direction within a crew or a group of sub-contractors
  • Assisting in securing site; employees and safety
  • General maintenance
  • Utility installation/repair
  • Assists with as-builds and ensures attention to detail and high quality work
  • May assist supervisor in administrative tasks relating to hiring and interviewing employees
  • Help with training of crew members
  • Read and understand blueprints
  • Help ensure everyone is following company safety policies, OSHA, and DOT regulations
  • Speak with property owners about work to be performed and resolve any issues
  • Safely use heavy equipment and machinery
  • Perform work in all weather conditions
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a background check and company drug screening
  • Ability to attend and pass all company required training as needed
  • May be required to work over-time; after hours; on weekends or be on-call as work is needed to ensure work is completed
  • May include working nights and holidays as needed
  • May be required to travel in state or overnight as necessary to meet business needs
  • Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position
  • High School Diploma, GED equivalent, relevant work experience, or a combination of education and work experience preferred
  • Previous Foreman experience preferred

  • Employees performing functions of this position are regularly exposed to outside weather conditions which can include but is not limited to: extreme heat and cold temperatures; inclement weather such as rain, snow, sleet and dust as well as adverse driving conditions including wet roads, icy roads, and fog.
  • Employees performing these job functions are required to lift or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Employees in this job classification may be exposed to dust, fumes or other airborne pathogens.
  • Employees may be exposed to toxic or corrosive chemicals as well as moving machinery parts and pieces.
  • Specific vision abilities required to perform this job include but are not limited to: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus potentially near and/or far as needed.
