About the role
The successful candidate will oversee field crews on a prestigious Mission Critical Data Center project in San Antonio, TX. They will ensure that the field teams perform their tasks safely, efficiently, and meet the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead journeymen, apprentices, and helpers on active data center projects
- Assign daily work, manpower, and priorities based on schedule and project needs
- Enforce productivity, workmanship, and safety expectations across crews
- Mentor and develop field personnel, ensuring proper task execution and growth
- Oversee installation of electrical systems including: Power distribution, Switchgear, transformers, UPS, and PDUs
- Coordinate work in electrical rooms, data halls, and support spaces
- Maintain cleanliness and compliance in sensitive data center areas (white space / gray space)
- Enforce OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E, and company safety policies at all times
- Lead daily JHAs, toolbox talks, and site safety planning
- Stop unsafe work and correct hazards immediately
- Ensure lockout/tagout and energized work procedures are followed
- Read and interpret drawings, one-lines, specs, and schedules
- Cookordination with superintendents, project managers, QA/QC, safety, and other trades
- Track daily manpower, production, and material usage
- Communicate constraints, delays, or scope changes proactively
Requirements
- Journeyman or Master Electrician License (required where applicable)
- OSHA 30 preferred (OSHA 10 minimum)
- NFPA 70E certification preferred
- Valid driver's license
- High school diploma or GED required
- State-recognized electrical apprenticeship completion preferred
- 6+ years of commercial electrical experience required
- 2+ years in a foreman or lead role preferred
- Prior data center or mission-critical project experience strongly preferred
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of NEC and commercial electrical codes
- Proven leadership and crew management ability
- Experience with large-scale power distribution and electrical rooms
- Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working extended hours, nights, or weekends as project demands
Skills
- Knowledge of OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E, and company safety policies
- Ability to plan work, sequence tasks, and manage manpower efficiently
- Experience with hand and power tools, conduit benders and installation equipment, electrical testing equipment, lifts, ladders, and scaffolding
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors depending on project phase
