Responsibilities
- Leading, training, and mentoring the project crew
- Prioritizing and delegating responsibilities
- Communicating with the tradespeople on the job site
- Tracking project schedules to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness
- Serving as a Lead Technical resource on assigned projects
- Reporting on job status and performance
- Controlling job costs
- Developing and maintaining productive relationships with peers, customers, General Contractors (GCs), and subcontractors
- Ensuring the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to safe work practices, including vehicle safety
- Ensuring compliance with Installation policies and procedures, including project tracking, safety, time and attendance, etc.
- Might oversee third-party resources
- Directing and overseeing the work of other apprentices and journeymen assigned to specific projects
Qualifications
- A high school diploma, GED, or completion of a trade program or technical school
- A college degree is preferred
- At least 6 years of experience directly in commercial/industrial refrigeration installation
- Knowledge of construction principles and practices, including efficient use of labor hours
- Ability to organize tasks
- Ability to use good judgment in making work assignments
- Ability to give clear instructions and guidance, as needed
- Ability to maintain project labor hours within acceptable limits and request change orders as needed
- Ability to ensure safe work practices and comply with Safety policies
- Understanding and following all company policies and procedures, as well as applicable State and Federal laws
- Track record of punctuality and dependability
- Ability to use computer tools including E-Mail, Word, Project Planning Software (Projectmates), etc.
- Ability to manage time, delegate assignments, and ensure good results
