Foreman - Ground Up
About the role
The Foreman supervises and coordinates the activities of construction in alignment with Abbott’s core values of exceptional customer service and safety. The Foreman is available to assume supervisory responsibilities when the Superintendent is not available.
Responsibilities
- Cook up the day-to-day activities of the construction site
- Act as the on-site safety officer and be able to train and delegate if necessary
- Ensure that subcontractors adhere to safety policies and procedures
- Develop and lead field teams throughout the construction process
- Identify and prepare Job Hazard Analysis for all hazards associated with the project
Qualifications
- Able to pass a drug test
- Ground-up and structural concrete experience
- Able to read and interpret plans and specs
- Proficient in the use of builder’s level and theodolite
- Experience in quality control, including inspections, compliance, and reporting
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction process
- Able to motivate, develop, and direct people as they work while identifying the best people for the job
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 75 pounds, occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds
- Exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration
- Exposure to a variety of extreme conditions at construction sites
- Occasional exposure to noise levels in the work environment can be loud
- Work may be performed indoors or outdoors depending on the project requirements
Pay
The hourly rate for this position is between $45.00 to $55.00.

Note
Sick leave accrues at one (1) hour for every 30 hours worked. Accrual for sick leave is capped at 240 hours. At the end of each calendar year, you will be allowed to carry over accrued and unused sick leave up to 240 hours. You will not begin accruing sick leave until you drop below the accrual cap.
