About the role
The Electrical Foreman is responsible for leading an electrical crew on commercial construction sites. Their primary role is to ensure planning, laying out, installing, and wiring electrical components are completed, as per project drawings, specifications and in accordance with applicable electrical codes.Qualifications
- Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Journeyman or Master Electrical license
- Customer-service skills to communicate with inspectors and administration to develop a positive working relationship
- Decision-making skills for selecting personnel and subcontractors for specific tasks and jobs to meet deadlines and budgets
- Initiative for generating their own business opportunities and being proactive in locating new clients
- Leadership skills for effectively delegating tasks to lower-level managers, subcontractors and construction workers.
- Speaking skills for providing clear orders, explaining complex information to clients and construction workers and discussing technical details with other building specialists
- Technical skills for interpreting construction methods and technologies along with contracts and technical drawings.
- Time-management skills to meet deadlines and ensure construction phases are completed on time so that the next phase can start
- Writing skills for writing budgets, proposals and plans along with documenting work progress for clients and others involved
- Proven experience as a Foreman for other construction sites
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA guidelines
- Preferred Skills and Abilities:
- 6-10 years of electrical field leadership experience
- 10+ years of electrical experience
- Crews 10-20
- Projects up to $1,000,000
- Strong proficiency in software and tools (e.g., Accubid, McCormick, Bluebeam, Procore, Plangrid) and Microsoft Office Suite
