Position Summary
The Foreman for Civil will oversee and manage crews performing civil site work. Provides leadership, and is responsible for, although not limited to scheduling, detail planning, coordinating, supervising, assisting in cost control and ensuring the safety, consistency and application of all Zachry policies and procedures. Assigns work packages, etc. to Foremen. Assist Foremen in all daily activities. Consult with other Craft Supervisors on areas of work, heavy equipment needed, and material requisitioned. Provide proper training and monitor productivity of crews who install/assemble components of industrial products.
Responsibilities
- Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
- Plan, schedule concrete placements and coordinate the work with supervision and planners to ensure conformance to construction schedules.
- Identify all tools required for tasks.
- Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
- Illustrate in-depth knowledge of civil crafts
- Tactically planned operations for scheduling workloads in crews efficiently utilizing assets and resources to minimize cost.
- Manage Crews regarding processes, scheduling, costs, employee relations issues, and employment needs.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated industrial construction/maintenance history experience.
- Ability to read prints and construction drawings.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and manufacturers manuals and instructions.
- Display expert knowledge in civil crafts.
- Organization and time management.
- Good problem-solving abilities.
- Good aptitude and manual dexterity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Zachry or Zachry ROF’ed employee.
- Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
- National Center for Construction Education and Research’s (NCCER) certification for Industrial Journeyman Carpenter.
- Formal/Technical education.
- Experience working with scaffolding, insulation, and painting.
