About the role

The position is located at John Hopkins Middle School in St. Petersburg, FL.

Responsibilities

• Teach Spanish language courses to students in grades 6-8.
• Instruct students in Spanish language skills, including grammar, vocabulary, and cultural understanding.
• Create lesson plans and assessments aligned with state standards.
• Maintain classroom discipline and ensure a safe learning environment.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff members to support student learning and school goals.
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid Florida teaching certificate in Spanish or a related field.
• Experience teaching Spanish at the middle school level preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Spanish language and culture.
• Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Experience with technology integration in the classroom.

Schedule

The position is a full-time, 10-month contract starting on August 3, 2026, with work hours from 8:50 AM to 4:20 PM.
