About the role
The position is located at John Hopkins Middle School in St. Petersburg, FL.
Responsibilities
- Teach Spanish language courses to students in grades 6-8.
- Instruct students in Spanish language skills, including grammar, vocabulary, and cultural understanding.
- Create lesson plans and assessments aligned with state standards.
- Maintain classroom discipline and ensure a safe learning environment.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff members to support student learning and school goals.
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid Florida teaching certificate in Spanish or a related field.
- Experience teaching Spanish at the middle school level preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Spanish language and culture.
- Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Experience with technology integration in the classroom.

Schedule
The position is a full-time, 10-month contract starting on August 3, 2026, with work hours from 8:50 AM to 4:20 PM.
