Ford Mobile Service Technician
Job Description
Freeway Ford is seeking a professional and self-motivated Mobile Service Technician. This role involves performing a variety of light repairs on-site at customer homes and businesses using a Freeway Ford Mobile Service vehicle. The ideal candidate is a skilled technician who enjoys working independently, has a strong diagnostic background, and possesses the "people skills" to provide a luxury-level service experience in the field.
Work Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to commute to Bloomington, MN, and operate a mobile service vehicle throughout the Twin Cities area
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Responsibilities
- Previous professional automotive repair experience (Ford experience strongly preferred)
- Utilize Ford diagnostic tools (IDS/FDRS) to perform module programming and software updates on-site
- Maintain the dealership-provided mobile service vehicle, ensuring it is clean, stocked with parts, and that all tools are properly maintained
- Act as a professional ambassador for Freeway Ford, explaining repairs to customers and ensuring a "guest-first" experience
- Adhere to all shop and road safety protocols while operating the mobile unit and performing off-site repairs
Qualifications
- Automotive experience in a dealership or high-volume shop
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and a professional, well-groomed appearance
- High level of time-management and organizational skills
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various weather conditions
