Responsibilities
- Supervise meal distribution to service sites.
- Ensure proper holding and handling of foods to be served.
- Some food preparation and presentation.
- Monitor and record temperatures.
- Conduct taste testing food items as needed.
- Oversee patient meal tray line process.
- Oversee patient meal tray delivery process to patient rooms.
- Maintain compliance with policy and regulatory standards, including health regulations and JCAHO standards.
- Establish own shift work plan and priorities.
- Develop plans, methods, and procedures for improving operations.
- Interview, coach, hire, train, schedule, and evaluate food service staff.
- Make recommendations for disciplinary action up to termination as necessary.
- Maintain appropriate records.
- Lead daily huddles/meetings with team.
- Maintain high standards of sanitation.
- Ensure a safe environment for all employees and patients.
- Manage staff in accordance with Hospital's personnel policies.
- Manage employee time and attendance, payroll, and other records as assigned.
- Participate in regular meetings and required continuing professional development.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- No licensure or certification required.
- Two (2) years food service experience.
- Professional kitchen lead/supervisory experience.
- Current ServSafe certification.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of professional kitchen lead/supervisory experience.
- Previous or current hospital experience in a lead/supervisory role.
- Ability to establish own shift work plan and priorities.
- Ability to develop plans, methods, and procedures for improving operations.
- Ability to interview, coach, hire, train, schedule, and evaluate staff.
