About the role

Position Goal: To efficiently perform the duties involved in the safe preparation and serving of food to school students and cleaning up kitchen equipment and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepares appealing, nutritious meals to all students in accordance with National School Breakfast and Lunch programs.
• Serve food using proper portion control.
• Use proper sanitation and safety procedures in accordance with the Montgomery County Health Department.
• Ensure equipment and designated areas are kept clean.
• Operate a variety of kitchen equipment properly and safely.
• Work in any area that is needed (i.e.; salad prep, sandwich prep, hot foods prep, cashier, dish room).
• Follow all policies and procedures established by the Food Service Department.
• Use good public relation techniques with students, teachers, principal, and parents.
• Cooperate with fellow workers using a teamwork approach to kitchen duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED
• The substitute must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• The position holder must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
