Notice of Support Staff Posting Position: Food Service Substitute Posting # 3505 West Ottawa Public Schools Posting Dates: May 17, 2024 - Until Filled Reports To: Food Service Director Beginning: As Soon As Possible Hours: Various hours - School days as early as 6 a.m. and no later than 2 p.m. School Year/Part Time Qualifications Some experience working in food service environment preferredExperience working with children preferredServSafe certified preferred Job Responsibilities Assist in the preparation and service of school mealsAssist with daily cleaning of kitchen, cafeteria and food service equipmentMonitor children in the cafeteria to ensure safety and orderOther duties as assigned Other Will generally know several days in advance when and where work is assigned. On occasion, may be called the same day.Must be flexible with schedulingPhysically demanding workMust be able to lift, carry, push and or pull 20-50 pounds Physical Requirements And Working Conditions Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles. Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry 20-50 pounds.Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken work; those activities where detailed or import spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.The worker is subject to environmental conditions.The worker should provide consistent and reliable attendance.
