Food Service Worker, Wilkes Barre Rehab Hospital (Part time, Days)

Summary

Under the general supervision of the Food Services Director or Assistant Food Services Manager, the Food Service Worker performs a variety of duties directly related to the set‑up, service, breakdown, and clean‑up resulting from the provision of food service to patients, clients, residents, employees and guests of Allied Services. Assigned duties are implemented in a manner appropriate to the age‑specific needs of the patients served.

Responsibilities

• Set‑up food service areas for patient, client, resident, employee, and guest meals.
• Provide food service, including serving meals and snacks.
• Break down service areas and clean up after meals.
• Tailor service to the age‑specific needs of patients.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Institutional or commercial food service experience (preferred).

Skills

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills for effective interaction with staff and visitors.
• Ability to read and perform simple mathematical functions (calculations, conversions).
• Knowledge and ability to provide individualized care appropriate to the age‑specific needs and culture of patients.
