Food Service Worker / Part-Time, Day Shift

About the role

The Food Service Worker for the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs (MDVA) at the Bemidji Veterans Home (MVH-Bemidji) is responsible for performing routine food service tasks including food preparation, short order cooking, serving meals to residents, dishwashing, and cleaning food service areas.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals to residents according to established policies and procedures.
• Perform simple cooking on a large scale and plan and prepare small meals on a household scale.
• Clean and maintain food service areas, including dishwashing.
• Follow sanitation standards and adhere to food safety guidelines.

Requirements

• Knowledge of materials and methods used in preparing food.
• Ability to perform cleaning and food service tasks.
• Knowledge of basic sanitation standards.
• Knowledge of International Dysphagia Diet Standardization Initiative (IDDSI).

Qualifications

• Preparation and plating experience with food service.
• Experience with serving food to residents.
• Knowledge of ServSafe Food Certificate.

Skills

• Basic knowledge of food service operations.
• Ability to follow instructions and policies.
