Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of routine manual tasks in a kitchen or dining area following established procedures.
• Sets up glasses, silverware, dishes, trays, napkins, condiments, and cold menu items such as salads, desserts, bread, and cold beverages on a serving line or tables.
• Removes dishes and trays from tables after meals.
• Washes tables and counters.
• Prepares food by sorting, washing, peeling, and cutting fresh fruit and vegetables.
• Operates, breaks down, and cleans all equipment assigned to the area for food preparation.
• Cleans kitchen equipment such as worktables, sinks, and refrigerators.
• Separates food waste and trash from dishes, glasses, and silverware.
• Loads and operates dishwashers.
• Stores cleaned dishes, glasses, and silverware.
• Vacuums and shampoos carpets; sweeps and mops kitchen floors.
• Cleans windows and washes walls.
• Cleans and sanitizes trash cans; disposes of trash.

Requirements

• Direct Deposit and Social Security Card are required.
• Must meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements for this position.
• A one-year probationary period may be required.
• Must satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para. 2, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.
• Incumbent must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 40 pounds.
• May be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.

Pay

This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week — whichever gives the employee more benefit.

• Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays.
• Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.

Area of consideration: This job is open to candidates who are within the local/surrounding commuting area (within 50 miles of West Point). Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates are included.
