Food Service Worker I, PT Evenings

About the Role

Performs a variety of tasks associated with the preparation and serving of salads, sandwiches, desserts, supplemental and enteral feedings, and snacks using tally sheets and recipes. Delivers meal carts and late trays for patients to nursing stations. Works on patient trayline for set-up, service, breakdown, and sanitation. May also perform tasks related to cafeteria service, including use of cash register, cleaning of the cafeteria line and dining room, and maintenance of work areas.

Responsibilities

• Log hot and cold food temperatures on trayline as well as refrigerator/freezer temperatures.
• Perform cleaning tasks, including detail cleaning, washing dishes, pots, and pans.
• Stock and clean work areas.
• Prepare and serve food using standardized recipes and portion control protocols.
• Operate knives, large food production equipment, and tools.
• Use cash register and make change.
• Perform other food service tasks as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma preferred but not required.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Six months of experience in food services preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of modified diets is helpful.

Skills

• Ability to follow standardized recipes and portion control protocols.
• Ability to use knives, large food production equipment, and tools.
• Ability to use a cash register and make change.
