Food Service Assistant - PT Evenings
About the role
The Food Service Assistant at GSS NE Beatrice Ctr plays a crucial role in ensuring high-quality food service to seniors in a Christian environment. Responsibilities include monitoring food temperatures, setting up and maintaining a clean serving area, preparing and serving food items, restocking areas, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and handling payments.
Responsibilities
- Maintain proper food temperatures
- Set up and maintain a clean and sanitized serving area
- Prepare and serve food items
- Restock food areas
- Clean and sanitize equipment
- Receive payment for food and beverages using a computerized register
- Operate equipment such as grills, beverage machines, toasters, ice cream dispensers, cash registers, computerized cash registers, steam equipment, dishwashers, telephones, refrigerators, and freezers
- Comply with HACCP guidelines for food service
- Provide outstanding customer service and communicate effectively with patrons and co-workers
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Maintain quality control standards
Requirements
- Minimum of 16 years of age
- Previous customer service experience, retail counting, and money reconciliation preferred
- Knowledge of food service preferred
- Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions
- Basic math skills
Qualifications
- Preferably, experience working in the food industry
- Ability to work independently when necessary
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation processes
- Ability to be on feet for the majority of the day and walk far distances
Skills

- Food safety and sanitation knowledge

$15.00 - $22.50 per hour
