Schedule
Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week. Shift is Monday through Friday, 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM.
Qualifications
- Basic literacy skills: ability to read, write, and follow written instructions.
- Basic math skills: ability to count, chart, and measure.
- A minimum of one year of previous experience in the food service field is required. Participation in a food service–related work adjustment or training program may substitute for experience.
- While a high-school diploma or GED is not required for this position, it may be required if the role is expanded to include additional duties. A diploma or GED is also typically required for advancement to other positions within the agency.
Responsibilities
- Take a consensus of needed dishes and utensils for all classrooms and the Adult Center.
- Distribute panned food to each classroom and the Adult Center.
- Scrape, soak, and wash all dishes.
- Assist in cleaning equipment used in food transport.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of food preparation and transport areas.
- Adhere to kitchen safety rules and Tennessee Department of Health and Environmental regulations, including daily testing of chlorine levels in the commercial dishwasher.
